Drum Roll Please . . . .

The winner of my Give Thanks Giveaway (by luck of random number picking provided by my husband) is: Sadie Lyman.  Since I had your address, I put it in the mail this morning.  Hopefully it will be there by Monday so you only miss one day of drawing a slip of paper out.  Have fun with it and THANKS for all the commenters.

GIVE THANKS GIVEAWAY!!!

Okay, so Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!  In honor of that, I am giving away this:

It's the same idea as my previous post, but simpler.  It is filled with strips of paper that have things you are thankful for and how you can show your thankfulness.  I'm warning you that this only took me 20 minutes to make so it might not be the best craft that I have done, but if you want to win just leave a comment.  Since November is coming SOON - you only have until October 31st to enter.  I will mail it out to the winner on Monday.  Good luck!!

Counting Our Blessings (Post Scripted!)

This is my new favorite thing.  It's basically an advent calendar for November and each little pocket has a card in it that has something you are thankful for written inside.  I call it Counting Our Blessings.  Some of the things on the cards are: We are thankful for music - turn up some tunes and dance together; We are thankful for our bodies - let's go play; We are thankful for our forever family - do something fun together; etc.  You get the idea.  I'm hoping it will make the kids appreciate all the things we are blessed with.  I'm excited for November 1st when we can get started.  I got the idea from here.

PS There is a cute, easier idea for this here.

Fabric Wreath

Since I had some fabric left over from my Halloween table runner, I decided to put it to good use.  The hardest part of this, was finding a wire hanger - seriously who uses wire hangers anymore?  Anyway, it was a really quick project.  You just cut strips of fabric - mine are 1 in wide by 6 in long - then you tie them in a knot around the wire hanger which you have bent to form a circle.  I then added a big bow out of fabric.

Trick or Treat Cans

I have formula cans laying around again - I saved them to see if I could come up with something cute and crafty. Here is what two of them turned in to:

Trick or Treat buckets for Ben and Jake.

Aaron says they are too small and won't hold enough candy, but seriously do a 2 and 4 year old need more candy then these will hold?  Anyway, this was super easy thing to do.  I just ripped off the label, mod podged halloween paper on the can, cut out some cute letters with the cricut, drilled holes for the wire handle, added some ribbon and a cute jack-o-lantern button, and waa-laa -   Finished!  Ben and Jake love them and wish I would give them to them now, but I don't want them destroyed - did I mention they were 2 and 4 year old boys - before Halloween.  I didn't make one for Kaden this year because he's only 7 months old and has no teeth - how is he supposed to eat candy like that?!

Mod Podge Pumpkins

Aaron brought me these cute little pumpkins - too small to carve and its a bit early for that. Since I am not a painter, I found some clipart and mod podged it on to them. They didn't turn out half bad.

Happy October

Aren't these so adorable?!

It took me probably an hour to make all of them. I got the idea from here: http://notsoidlehands.blogspot.com/2009/09/freecycle-friday-glowing-jack-olanterns.html They are really easy and inexpensive - between me and my mom, I had all the supplies on hand. Just thought I would share the idea for anyone interested.
