Cinnamon Bread

When I was in high school, a friend of mine's mom would make the most delicious cinnamon bread and send it on sport bus trips.  Since then I have tried and tried to make it like she used to.  I finally got the directions last fall from my friend Kinsey.  It is SO delicious and super easy to make.

doesn't it look delicious?

All you do is make your favorite bread recipe and after the dough has risen you flaten it out.  Then spread melted butter on, sprinkle with brown sugar, powdered sugar, and cinnamon.  Don't be stingy with the sprinkling either - you can't have enough of the gooiness that it creates.  Roll it up and press the seams together and then put it in the pan.  Let it rise again and then bake it as per your bread recipe instructions.
SOOO GOOD!!

A friend of mine showed me an envelope-type scracbook that she had bought so I decided to make one.  I didn't really know what I was doing but this is how it turned out.

Paper Pinwheels

To start off - I totally ripped this idea off my SIL Leslie's blog.  She made hers out of fabric and they are so cute.  I didn't have any cute fabric on hand (and the nearest store is 1 1/2 hrs away) so I went with some cute scrapbook paper that I had.  They turned out so cute and my little boys were disappointed that they didn't spin like real pinwheels do.  I can only do so much.  Here are some pics:

If you want to give it a try you can find Leslie's tutorial HERE.

ABC 123

I finally got around to doing one of my to-do projects.  I took an old formula can and modpodged some cute paper and letters on it.  Then i filled it with ABCs, abcs, and 123s that I had made with my cricut and then laminated.  My whole intent was so Jake could get a little better at recognizing his letters and numbers.  It's hard to keep it away from our older Benjamin that likes to review all the stuff he has learned in preschool this year.  Kaden tries to get a hold of them too but he's not sure what it is he's trying to get a hold of.  Anyway, it came together cute and all the boys LOVE it.

Spring Tablerunner

First of all, I am not the greatest at applique.  I got this pattern for table runners for every month of the year.  This is the one for May.  I didn't follow the pattern exactly but I love how it turned out.  Here are some close-ups:

Who's got the . . . .

Button.  Well, the button jar at least.  My mom has an antique wooden button box that I COVET!  I decided to make a button jar until I can get my hands on that box.  I just took an old plastic jar with a lid, mod podged some cute paper and letters on it and - DONE!  Very cute and now I have a place for all my buttons.

April Frame

Easter came and went and I didn't want to have EGGS up in my frame for the whole month. I also didn't want to jump the gun on May's word so I used my handy dandy cricut create and cut out some flowers and butterflies.  It's very springish and it will get me through until May.

Skirts

I've had this fabric laying around forever.  It's so cute and I didn't really want to cut it.  I decided the other day that I wanted a new skirt though so I finally gave in and cut it out.  They are both the same pattern.  I was going to do the yellow one different - and I did.  But once it was all sewn together, I didn't like the style or the way it looked on me.  So, I unpicked the whole thing and redid it the same pattern as the blue one.  They both turned out way cute and I can't wait for the chance to wear them.
