Bumper Pad

A friend of mine that I went to high school with recently asked me if I could sew a bumper pad for her soon to come baby boy!  She brought me the fabric and all the trim and I sewed it up for her.  It turned out way cute and she was really happy with it.  It was also an easy to do project and instead of charging her we struck a trade.  She's a great hair stylist, you see, and I was in desperate need of a trim.

Bless Our Home

I made this a while ago for a Relief Society Craft Night.  I love how it turned out - I did mine different from the sample that they had displayed that night.  I had to put my own little spin on it.

Neighbor Gifts

I made this yummy treat - so delicious and so so easy.  Then I took formula cans and washed them out, covered them in cute christmas scrapbook paper, made a label to put on the top, attached a card - and DONE!  They turned out really cute.  We went and delivered them last night with the boys - who thought it was a lot of fun.  I love when things turn out the way I picture them in my head.  I just hope all the people we took them to enjoy the popcorn as much as we do.

All packaged up and ready to go.

More Christmas Projects

HO HO HO Banner
I made this the first year Aaron and I were married.  I copied it off of one that my mom had purchased.  It's just cut out of a 2 x 4 and strung together with wire and then there is fabric tied on the wires in between.  It turned out pretty cute.

Merry Christmas Blocks
These are the blocks I made this year for a relief society craft.  I was asked to come up with something cheap and christmas-y.  My SIL Leslie gave me this idea and everyone who did them LOVED them.

Christmas Aprons

I decided to sew up some Christmas Aprons for my mom and I.  I got the pattern off of an apron my SIL Andrea gave me last year for Christmas.  I love it!  They turned out really cute and I'm sure I will get a lot of use of it whilst doing my Christmas baking this year.

The WINNER is . . . .

Audrey!  I put the names of the commenters in a hat (there were only 4 so it was a pretty small hat) and Aaron drew away.  I will deliver it some time this week.  Thanks for entering and keep checking back for more giveaways.

I'm giving this sweet little tree away.  You have from now until Sunday at noon to enter - not much time but I want to get it sent out Monday so you actually have time to display it this season.  Just leave a comment with your email address (so I can get your physical address).  Good luck to all!

Christmas Sewing Projects from the past.

I made this puff quilt tree skirt the first year Aaron and I were married.  I love how it turned out and I hope it keeps lasting for many years to come.  The kids love to lay on it and look up at the tree.  The dog thinks it's a comfy spot as well.

I made these stockings a couple of years ago (Jacob's first Christmas) - minus the one that is there for Kaden.  I had tons of left over material so I was able to sew a matching one for Kaden.  I'm glad I found it all because I really love the way these look and I would've been sad if I didn't have one for Kaden.  They are also HUGE and Santa can really stuff them with a lot of good surprises and treats.  I got the pattern here.

Those are just  few of things on my list of projects.  I'm going to start doing this so I can remember all the fun things I want to make.  I hope I have helped you get an idea for your next crafting project.

Handmade Gift Exchange

I got my gift today from the Handmade Gift Exchange that I signed up for at Craftaholics.  Thanks Heather for the great gift.  Here is a pic of what I got:

A sheet of Chritsmas stickers, a set of note pads and a pen, candy canes, and a homemade ornament that I absolutely LOVE!

Here are a couple pics of the gift I sent out to Sadie - she should have gotten it by now so I won't spoil the fun by showing it off.

A cute little set of Merry Christmas Blocks and

a monogrammed apron!

Christmas Ornaments

When we first got married, I told Aaron one of the traditions I wanted to do was to get an ornament to show what we had done during the year.  This year I made our ornaments instead of buying them.  I actually made 3 family ornaments - the one above, a cookie cutter in the shape of montana that I bought while we were there on family vacay, and the one below.
This one is my favorite of the the three.  It has family pics of us taken throughout the year mod-podged on the sides of the block and the letter H on top.

I also made the boys' this year and I was really happy with how they turned out.  On Benjamin's and Jacob's I put a picture with the year and then put things that they have been into throughout the year on the sides. On Benjamin's he has a pic of Optimus Prime, a little school house, a pic of Phineas and Ferb, a list of words that he has made up, and the letter B.  On Jacob's there is a pic of Bumblebee, a bandaid with the word OUCH written on it, a pic of Scooby Doo, a wrench with "Daddy's little helper" written by it, and the letter J.  On Kaden's I put pics of him throughout the year.  There is a newborn pic, one at 3 months, one at 6 months, and one at almost 9 months, a letter K, and BABY's First Christmas.

Christmas Countdowns

I made this wooden block countdown on Saturday after Thanksgiving.  My SIL brought two countdown projects for us to do while she was here - this was one of them.  It was so easy to put together and so cute!

This is the second project she brought for us.  It is a mini muffin tin advent calendar.  All I can say is:  it's a good thing we had a cricut or else it would have taken us so much longer to do.  It wasn't really hard to put this one together, just time consuming.

This one is my pride and joy.  It took me FOREVER to cross stitch this baby.  It has 25 little ornaments that hang on the bows by each number that were cross stitched onto plastic canvas.  I took the pic before Dec. 1st so there aren't any hung up yet.  Here is a close-up on Santa:
